Socks may seem like a simple piece of clothing, but you wear them almost every day. So they might as well be something special. For ten years, Carlo Lanza has been designing men's socks you enjoy putting on: under a suit, with chinos or with sneakers. They are made by a family business in Italy, where craftsmanship and an eye for detail come naturally.

Hand-finished in Italy

Most of our socks are made of Egyptian cotton: soft, strong and colourfast. For colder days there are men's socks in merino wool, and the Luxury line is made of cashmere with cotton. On every sock the toe is linked by hand, so you don't feel a seam. All yarns are dyed according to the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 label. This means no harmful chemicals are used in the dyeing process. Better for the environment, and kinder to your skin.

Plain, patterned or for a special day

Looking for a classic plain sock? Then Classico is our staple: Egyptian cotton, a toe seam you don't feel and a fixed range of classic colours. For an affordable sock for every day, there is Basic in combed cotton. Want a bit more character? Strisce d'Arte has fine stripes and Intrecci a subtle pattern. For loafers or sneakers there are the invisible socks, which you don't see but do feel. Going for a workout or a walk? Grab the sports socks with a terry sole. Getting married? Then there are the Just Married socks. And for those who like it classic Italian: knee-high socks.

Match your socks to your trousers or to your shoes?

Opinions differ, and actually both work. Choose socks in the colour of your trousers and the line runs on from trouser to shoe. Your legs look longer and you look a little taller. Socks that match your shoes look good too. The most important thing: no bare skin when you sit down.

Frequently asked questions

Which sizes of men's socks are available?

Most socks come in 40-43 and 44-47. A number of colours are also available in sizes 36-39 or 48-51. The size is listed with each product. Children's socks are coming soon, from size 24-27.

Why don't Carlo Lanza socks slide down?

Because we improved them together with a customer panel. Based on their tips, the socks were made slightly longer on the calf and given extra elastane. So they stay in place all day, even when you sit.

How much care goes into a pair of Carlo Lanza socks?

More than you might think. It starts with an Italian yarn manufacturer, where the yarns are carefully selected and dyed in exactly the right shade. The socks are then knitted by a family business. The toe is linked by hand, so you feel the seam as little as possible. The socks are washed to prevent most of the shrinkage at home. Each sock is then pulled over a heated metal foot and pressed into shape. Finally, every pair is checked by hand before it goes to the Netherlands, where it is packed by a sheltered workshop. A pair of socks passes through many hands before it reaches you.

Why invest in good socks?

Because you wear them almost every day. It starts in the morning: putting on a pair of socks that feels soft and fits well. A small moment for yourself that you enjoy for the rest of the day. And good socks last much longer.

How do you best wash men's socks?

Wash them inside out at a maximum of 30 degrees and let them dry on a rack. Preferably don't put your socks in the dryer. That way colour and fit stay nice for longer. For merino and cashmere socks, use a wool programme.
