Plain men's socks are the basis of every sock drawer. You wear them under a suit, with chinos or simply with sneakers. Plain socks in cotton, merino wool or cashmere

Most plain men's socks are made of Egyptian cotton: soft, strong and colourfast. For cold days there are plain socks in merino wool: much finer and softer than ordinary wool, so no itch. Looking for something extra? Choose the Luxury line with cashmere. On every sock the toe is linked by hand, so you don't feel a seam. On the cotton and merino socks, toe and heel are also reinforced with nylon. That makes them last longer.

All yarns are dyed according to the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 label. This means no harmful chemicals are used in the dyeing process. Better for the environment, and kinder to your skin.

Which plain sock suits you?

Classico is our classic plain sock in Egyptian cotton, in a fixed range of classic colours. A sock that stays loyal to you for years. Basic is the line in combed cotton for every day, also available as an affordable 2-pack. Azzurro, Bosco, Notte and Terra are each built around one colour family: Azzurro around blue, Bosco around green, Notte around grey and black, and Terra around brown and earth tones. Frequently asked questions

Which sizes are available?

Most plain socks come in 40-43 and 44-47. A number of colours are also available in sizes 36-39 or 48-51.

Why don't Carlo Lanza socks slide down?

Because we improved them together with a customer panel. Based on their tips, the socks were made slightly longer on the calf and given extra elastane. So they stay in place all day, even when you sit.

Why Egyptian cotton?

Egyptian cotton has extra-long fibres. This makes the yarn finer and stronger, the sock feels soft and it keeps its colour longer. It is one of the finest types of cotton in the world.

What is the difference between merino wool and ordinary wool?

Merino wool comes from the merino sheep and has a much finer fibre than ordinary sheep's wool. That is why it feels soft and doesn't itch, not even directly on your skin. Merino wool doesn't absorb moisture, it wicks it away. Cotton, on the other hand, does absorb moisture. Merino wool is also self-cleaning, so it is less prone to odour. And it keeps you warm in winter and fresh in summer. Ordinary wool is coarser, feels rougher and is often warmer and heavier.

Can you wear plain socks for business?

Absolutely. Under a suit, but also casually with chinos or jeans.

How do you best wash plain socks?

Wash them inside out at a maximum of 30 degrees and let them dry on a rack. Preferably don't put your socks in the dryer. That way colour and fit stay nice for longer. For merino and cashmere socks, use a wool programme.
