These anthracite knee-high socks with classic ribbing are made from merino wool. This special type of wool is one of the best wool fabrics in the world. The fabric ensures optimal comfort. Wool has the ability to circulate air very well. Great to wear in winter of course, but because of this property, they are also good during the warmer seasons. Before these knee-high socks reach you as a customer, they have gone through many steps. First, the yarn is purchased and dyed the proper color. The yarns are then woven together with circular knitting machines, after which, the toe is hand-stitched. The Italians call this finish 'rimaglio'. When this is complete, the socks are washed in bundles. This is necessary to strengthen the yarn. After washing, the socks go around a heated metal base. This way, each sock is ironed. Before the socks leave for the Netherlands, they are checked one-by-one for any defects. As a cherry on the cake, a liner is placed in each sock and the socks are tied together by means of a bow. In Italy, they call this 'fiocco in punta'. Pure craftsmanship! In the Netherlands, a final check is completed to achieve perfection and to surprise you as a customer.
